On February 3,1836 Davy Crockett brought in at least thirty Tennessee

inhabitants while Neill went away on a leave of absence on February 11 to see his diseased household. He left William Barret Travis in his place to command them even though he was just one of the ordinary members of the army. This made James Bowie extremely mad at Travis because he was older and was considered a colonel ,only by himself though. Plus, he had a better reputation than Travis. They called an election between the two and Bowie won then infuriating Travis.

Bowie renowned this winning by getting drunk and causing lots of big

trouble in San Antonio. This was not ordinary trouble though because Bowie went around freeing all of the people from the majority of local prisons ,and he also decided to try pestering the citizens of San Antonio. This utterly appalled Travis in ways like these: since he won Bowie, decided to go get drunk ,which I myself am very disgusted by too. He let all prisoners go which probably means he let a lot of captured Mexicans free to tell their general, José Antonio Mexía ,what had been happening in the Texian’s territory.

After two days, William Barret Travis and James Bowie decide to

form a joint command of their ,both very strong, forces and minds. Bowie ended up getting control over the helpful volunteers while Mr. Travis received the main control by ruling over the regular army and the volunteering calvary men. To conclude the words I have just written, Travis and Bowie ended up compromising to inherit joint command of all of the Alamo’s forces.
