The siege of the Alamo happened on February 23, 1836 to March
6,1836 and is a description of the first thirteen days of the well known battle of the Alamo. If you are confused when thinking about that, the siege was just the first thirteen days ,and the battle was what happened after. These first thirteen days were also called the “Thirteen Days to Glory”. On the 23, some soldiers from Mexico ,whose leader was General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, entered the no, San Antonio de Bexar., Texas. They were all around the Alamo Mission.
The area was guarded by a couple of Tejanos and Texians whose
leaders were William Barret Travis and James Bowie. These few people included Davy Crockett. Before initiating his invasion on the Texians, General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna gave them one last chance to “put up the white flag” so to speak.
Travis did exactly what my definition of stupid is and started firing
the Mexican army and secured his ,and his army’s, not very happy fate,to die by the hand of a treacherous Mexican. On March 6,1836, the siege concluded when the Mexicans made a very early attack. Almost all of the defenders of the Alamo died.Thankfully, some civilians lived.
