The Battle of the Alamo is a very important battle ,and it is probably
the most well known of them all too.It lasted from February 23 to March 6, 1836 which means that it lasted thirteen days total. After the Siege, the Mexican army attacked the Alamo Mission near San Antonio de Béxar under the rules of President Antonio López de Santa Anna. San Antonio de Béxar is near what is now San Antonio, Texas. In this battle, most of the people who were there died. The only two people who actually survived were Susanna Dickinson and a baby she was holding.
Santa Anna was very brutal when he killed all of the men ,but that
influenced many people when they heard about it from Susanna Dickinson. They were thinking about joining the Texian army. Sustained by wanting to claim revenge, the Texians had made a victory over the Mexican Army at the battle of San Jacinto. They had this winning on April 21, 1836 and this huge victory ended the Texas Revolution.
Many months before, the Texians herded all Mexicans Army members
out of the Mexican Texas Area. After that about 100 Texians were protected at the Alamo fort. Their forces grew by a small amount when James Bowie and William B. Travis brought some supplies.
