In Gonzales,Texas on October 2,1835 a battle broke out between the Mexicans and the Texans. This is the famous “Come and Take It” battle. This is also the first battle of the Texas Revolution. The most important event that happens is when the Texans flew the American "Come and Take It" flag above their cannon. Texas wanted to gain freedom for themselves and others. This is the first battle,so it shows exactly that.
In 1831 the Mexican Government provide the Gonzales community a small cannon to support them from the Comanche’s embezzlement of their resources. In 1835 the government fell down and multiple states defied the laws. Colonel Domingo de Ugartechea thought about it and decided that the Texans with a weapon is a big problem! They simply asked for it back , but Texans are not easy people (they wanted freedom).
Ugartechea sent 100 trained rider/fighter men to take back the cannon around September 29th. The stubborn Texans came up with bunches of excuses to keep them away while they went around and asked for help in colonies around them. After 2 days , the Texans had gathered 140 people with them. On October 1-2 the Texans fought, fired and won. Again showing how Texans will not stop ever in their lives to gain freedom.
